Ankara - Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Hulusi Akar, in BakanlΔ±klar, Ankara, Turkey, Friday (3/2/2023).
On this occasion, the two signed an action plan for defense cooperation between the two countries, to strengthen steps in this cooperation to increase the potential for training and the defense industry.
"We have just signed something very historic and important, namely an action plan which is a follow-up to the strategic cooperation relationship between the two countries," said Prabowo.
Prabowo said he was optimistic that the cooperation between Indonesia and Turkey could contribute to world peace.
"I am optimistic that close cooperation within the strategic partnership framework between Turkey and Indonesia can contribute to world peace and stability," he continued.
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome to him and the Indonesian delegation.
"Once again, thank you for the warm welcome, the cooperation that has existed so far and we look forward to the next historic collaboration," said Prabowo.
The Minister of Defense of Turkey explained that the two parties had discussed the smooth implementation of this cooperation so as to produce this action plan.
"It is important for us to increase the potential for military training and cooperation between our countries in the defense industry," he said.
Meanwhile, he hopes that the Indonesia-Turkey bilateral relations in the field of defense can make a positive contribution.
"Not only for the national interests of the two countries, but also for regional security," said the Turkish Defense Minister.
